The Greenbelt is a protected area of green space, farmland, forests, wetlands, and watersheds surrounding the Greater Toronto Area. During 2022 the Ontario NDP at Queen’s Park discovered that the Ontario government may have been involved in removing lands from the Greenbelt to favour certain developers.
The issue was raised in question period, in the press, in social media and in a series of events. Graphics were created to help bring attention to the story. Deliverables included social media graphics, digital ads and event materials.
Townhall digital ads

Digital ads designed for various social media platforms to promote a townhall event on protecting the Greenbelt. Several successful townhalls were held in municipalities in or near the Greenbelt who rely on the protected land for recreation and environmental protection.
Event lobby poster

A matching lobby poster for the townhall events to help direct people and tie in the event with other Greenbelt campaign activities.
Opposition graphics

Sharing proceedings from the Ontario legislature with the general public can be difficult. These social media graphics were created in advance of a motion from the Ontario NDP to help build some momentum around efforts to protect the Greenbelt.

More social media graphics approaching the issue from different angles. The NDP motion didn’t pass so a follow-up graphic was created as an update on the proceedings.
Auditor General’s report graphics

Ontario’s Auditor General did an investigation and report on the Greenbelt land removals. A set of carousel graphics for Instagram were created to highlight some key points from the AG’s findings.
